Astrophysical Synthesis & Habitability Characterization

HD 110067 f is a confirmed sub-neptune exoplanet orbiting the star HD 110067, located approximately 104.9 light-years (32.16 parsecs) from the Solar System. First announced in 2023 by Multiple Observatories using the Transit detection technique (producing an estimated primary transit depth of 0.0916% across the stellar disk), this world measures 2.601 Earth radii and has a measured mass of 5.04 Earth masses. Combining its mass and radius yields a mean bulk density of 1.58 g/cm³ (a low bulk density dominated by an extended hydrogen-helium gaseous envelope), a surface gravity of 0.74 g⊕ (7.26 m/s²), and an escape velocity of 15.6 km/s.

In its orbital architecture around HD 110067, HD 110067 f completes one full revolution every 41.059 Earth days at a semi-major axis of 0.2163 AU (orbiting interior to Mercury's 0.387 AU benchmark in the Solar System). Its mean orbital velocity is approximately 57.3 km/s (compared to Earth's 29.8 km/s).

⚠️ Thermal Regime (Irradiated / Hot Zone): At an equilibrium temperature of 489 K (+216°C / +421°F) and receiving 9.28 S⊕ (~12,633 W/m²), HD 110067 f orbits interior to the runaway greenhouse boundary where surface liquid water cannot persist.

The host star HD 110067 is classified as an orange K-type star of spectral type K0.0 V with an effective photospheric temperature of 5,266 K, a radius of 0.788 R☉, a mass of 0.798 M☉, an estimated bolometric luminosity of 0.428 L☉. Stellar evolution modeling indicates an estimated stellar age of 8.1 Gyr and a metallicity of [Fe/H] = -0.2 dex (metal-poor relative to the Sun). From Earth, HD 110067 shines at apparent V-band magnitude 8.419 (accessible to binoculars and small amateur telescopes) in the Northern celestial hemisphere. The HD 110067 system is a multi-planet architecture hosting 6 confirmed worlds, with HD 110067 f sharing its stellar neighborhood alongside HD 110067 b, HD 110067 c, HD 110067 d, HD 110067 e, HD 110067 g.
