Astrophysical Synthesis & Habitability Characterization

TYC 0434-04538-1 b is a confirmed gas giant exoplanet orbiting the star TYC 0434-04538-1, located approximately 2000.7 light-years (613.42 parsecs) from the Solar System. First announced in 2021 by Multiple Observatories using the Radial Velocity detection technique (measuring periodic Doppler reflex motion in the host star's spectrum), this world measures 12.7 Earth radii (1.13 Jupiter radii) and has a measured mass of 1938.763 Earth masses (6.1 Jupiter masses). Combining its mass and radius yields a mean bulk density of 5.22 g/cm³ (a terrestrial silicate-iron composition comparable to Earth (5.51 g/cm³)), a surface gravity of 12.02 g⊕ (117.88 m/s²), and an escape velocity of 138.2 km/s.

In its orbital architecture around TYC 0434-04538-1, TYC 0434-04538-1 b completes one full revolution every 193.2 Earth days at a semi-major axis of 0.66 AU (situated at an orbital separation between Mercury's 0.39 AU and Venus's 0.72 AU). Its mean orbital velocity is approximately 37.2 km/s (compared to Earth's 29.8 km/s). Its moderate orbital eccentricity of e = 0.08 carries the world between 0.6072 AU at periapsis and 0.7128 AU at apoapsis, driving measurable seasonal insolation cycles.

⚠️ Thermal Regime (Irradiated / Hot Zone): At an equilibrium temperature of 878 K (+605°C / +1121°F) and receiving 107.38 S⊕ (~146,140 W/m²), TYC 0434-04538-1 b orbits interior to the runaway greenhouse boundary where surface liquid water cannot persist.

The host star TYC 0434-04538-1 is classified as a stellar host with an effective photospheric temperature of 4,679 K, a radius of 9.99 R☉, a mass of 1.04 M☉, an estimated bolometric luminosity of 42.917 L☉. Stellar evolution modeling indicates a metallicity of [Fe/H] = -0.38 dex (metal-poor relative to the Sun). From Earth, TYC 0434-04538-1 shines at apparent V-band magnitude 10.247 (faint and requiring research-grade or CCD telescopic photometry) in the Northern celestial hemisphere.

Earth Similarity Index (ESI): 0.20 Earth Baseline = 1.00
