Astrophysical Synthesis & Habitability Characterization

TOI-1443 b is a confirmed sub-neptune exoplanet orbiting the star TOI-1443, located approximately 279.9 light-years (85.8 parsecs) from the Solar System. First announced in 2024 by Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) using the Transit detection technique (producing an estimated primary transit depth of 0.0791% across the stellar disk), this world measures 2.304 Earth radii and has a measured mass of 30 Earth masses (0.09 Jupiter masses). Combining its mass and radius yields a mean bulk density of 13.53 g/cm³ (an iron-enriched, high-compression rocky core), a surface gravity of 5.65 g⊕ (55.41 m/s²), and an escape velocity of 40.4 km/s.

In its orbital architecture around TOI-1443, TOI-1443 b completes one full revolution every 23.541 Earth days at a semi-major axis of 0.147 AU (orbiting interior to Mercury's 0.387 AU benchmark in the Solar System). Its mean orbital velocity is approximately 67.9 km/s (compared to Earth's 29.8 km/s). The orbit is modeled as circular (e = 0.00), maintaining a constant stellar distance throughout its year.

⚠️ Thermal Regime (Irradiated / Hot Zone): At an equilibrium temperature of 521 K (+248°C / +478°F) and receiving 16.86 S⊕ (~22,943 W/m²), TOI-1443 b orbits interior to the runaway greenhouse boundary where surface liquid water cannot persist.

The host star TOI-1443 is classified as a stellar host with an effective photospheric temperature of 5,224 K, a radius of 0.7511 R☉, a mass of 0.7663 M☉, an estimated bolometric luminosity of 0.377 L☉. Stellar evolution modeling indicates an estimated stellar age of 7.4 Gyr and a metallicity of [Fe/H] = -0.294 dex (metal-poor relative to the Sun). From Earth, TOI-1443 shines at apparent V-band magnitude 10.675 (faint and requiring research-grade or CCD telescopic photometry) in the Northern celestial hemisphere.

Earth Similarity Index (ESI): 0.43 Earth Baseline = 1.00

Methodology: Computed using the Schulze-Makuch et al. (2011) weighted metric comparing physical interior (radius, estimated density) and surface thermal regime (escape velocity, equilibrium temperature).
