Astrophysical Synthesis & Habitability Characterization

TOI-1347 b is a confirmed super-earth exoplanet orbiting the star TOI-1347, located approximately 481 light-years (147.48 parsecs) from the Solar System. First announced in 2024 by Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) using the Transit detection technique (producing an estimated primary transit depth of 0.0395% across the stellar disk), this world measures 1.8 Earth radii and has a measured mass of 11.1 Earth masses. Combining its mass and radius yields a mean bulk density of 10.49 g/cm³ (an iron-enriched, high-compression rocky core), a surface gravity of 3.43 g⊕ (33.64 m/s²), and an escape velocity of 27.8 km/s.

In its orbital architecture around TOI-1347, TOI-1347 b completes one full revolution every 0.847 Earth days at a semi-major axis of 0.0171 AU (an ultra-close orbit less than one-seventh of Mercury's 0.387 AU distance from the Sun, where strong stellar tidal forces typically induce synchronous rotation). Its mean orbital velocity is approximately 219.5 km/s (compared to Earth's 29.8 km/s). The orbit is modeled as circular (e = 0.00), maintaining a constant stellar distance throughout its year.

⚠️ Thermal Regime (Irradiated / Hot Zone): At an equilibrium temperature of 1400 K (+1127°C / +2061°F) and receiving 1,876.13 S⊕ (~2,553,415 W/m²), TOI-1347 b orbits interior to the runaway greenhouse boundary where surface liquid water cannot persist.

The host star TOI-1347 is classified as a stellar host with an effective photospheric temperature of 5,464 K, a radius of 0.83 R☉, a mass of 0.913 M☉, an estimated bolometric luminosity of 0.551 L☉. Stellar evolution modeling indicates an estimated stellar age of 1.4 Gyr and a metallicity of [Fe/H] = 0.04 dex (near-solar heavy-element abundance). From Earth, TOI-1347 shines at apparent V-band magnitude 11.168 (faint and requiring research-grade or CCD telescopic photometry) in the Northern celestial hemisphere. The TOI-1347 system is a multi-planet architecture hosting 2 confirmed worlds, with TOI-1347 b sharing its stellar neighborhood alongside TOI-1347 c.
