Astrophysical Synthesis & Habitability Characterization

TOI-1301.01 is a confirmed sub-neptune exoplanet orbiting the star TOI-1301, located approximately 296.4 light-years (90.87 parsecs) from the Solar System. First announced in 2024 by Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) using the Transit detection technique (producing an estimated primary transit depth of 0.0962% across the stellar disk), this world measures 2.477 Earth radii and has a measured mass of 6.7 Earth masses. Combining its mass and radius yields a mean bulk density of 2.43 g/cm³ (an intermediate density indicative of a deep water-ice mantle or dense volatile envelope), a surface gravity of 1.09 g⊕ (10.69 m/s²), and an escape velocity of 18.4 km/s.

In its orbital architecture around TOI-1301, TOI-1301.01 completes one full revolution every 6.096 Earth days at a semi-major axis of 0.059866 AU (orbiting interior to Mercury's 0.387 AU benchmark in the Solar System). Its mean orbital velocity is approximately 106.8 km/s (compared to Earth's 29.8 km/s).

⚠️ Thermal Regime (Irradiated / Hot Zone): At an equilibrium temperature of 737 K (+464°C / +867°F) and receiving 72.55 S⊕ (~98,741 W/m²), TOI-1301.01 orbits interior to the runaway greenhouse boundary where surface liquid water cannot persist.

The host star TOI-1301 is classified as a stellar host with an effective photospheric temperature of 4,820 K, a radius of 0.732 R☉, a mass of 0.77 M☉, an estimated bolometric luminosity of 0.259 L☉. From Earth, TOI-1301 shines at apparent V-band magnitude 11.337 (faint and requiring research-grade or CCD telescopic photometry) in the Northern celestial hemisphere.

Methodology: Computed using the Schulze-Makuch et al. (2011) weighted metric comparing physical interior (radius, estimated density) and surface thermal regime (escape velocity, equilibrium temperature).
