Astrophysical Synthesis & Habitability Characterization

OGLE-2019-BLG-0304L b is a confirmed gas giant exoplanet orbiting the star OGLE-2019-BLG-0304L, located approximately 22765.7 light-years (6980 parsecs) from the Solar System. First announced in 2021 by OGLE using the Microlensing detection technique (detected via relativistic gravitational lensing of a background source star), this world measures 14.2 Earth radii (1.27 Jupiter radii) and has a measured mass of 162.092 Earth masses (0.51 Jupiter masses). Combining its mass and radius yields a mean bulk density of 0.31 g/cm³ (a low bulk density dominated by an extended hydrogen-helium gaseous envelope), a surface gravity of 0.8 g⊕ (7.85 m/s²), and an escape velocity of 37.8 km/s.

☁️ Atmospheric Regime (Volatile / Gas Envelope): With a radius of 14.200 R⊕, OGLE-2019-BLG-0304L b exceeds the empirical ~1.8–2.2 R⊕ Fulton radius valley threshold, indicating a substantial hydrogen-helium or supercritical volatile envelope without a conventional solid terrestrial surface.

The host star OGLE-2019-BLG-0304L is classified as a stellar host with a mass of 0.27 M☉.

Earth Similarity Index (ESI): 0.26 Earth Baseline = 1.00
0.00 Dissimilar 0.50 Mars Scale 0.70 Analog Regime 1.00 Earth

Methodology: Computed using the Schulze-Makuch et al. (2011) weighted metric comparing physical interior (radius, estimated density) and surface thermal regime (escape velocity, equilibrium temperature).
