Astrophysical Synthesis & Habitability Characterization

2MASS J11550485-7919108 b is a confirmed gas giant exoplanet orbiting the star 2MASS J11550485-7919108, located approximately 329 light-years (100.86 parsecs) from the Solar System. First announced in 2024 by European Space Agency (ESA) Gaia Satellite using the Imaging detection technique (resolved directly via high-contrast coronagraphic or interferometric imaging), this world measures 12.1 Earth radii (1.08 Jupiter radii) and has a measured mass of 6356.568 Earth masses (20 Jupiter masses). Combining its mass and radius yields a mean bulk density of 19.78 g/cm³ (an iron-enriched, high-compression rocky core), a surface gravity of 43.42 g⊕ (425.8 m/s²), and an escape velocity of 256.4 km/s.

⚠️ Thermal Regime (Irradiated / Hot Zone): At an equilibrium temperature of 2506 K (+2233°C / +4051°F), 2MASS J11550485-7919108 b orbits interior to the runaway greenhouse boundary where surface liquid water cannot persist.

The host star 2MASS J11550485-7919108 is classified as a stellar host with an effective photospheric temperature of 3,021 K, a radius of 0.6005 R☉, a mass of 0.5885 M☉, an estimated bolometric luminosity of 0.027 L☉. From Earth, 2MASS J11550485-7919108 shines at apparent V-band magnitude 16.957 (faint and requiring research-grade or CCD telescopic photometry) in the Southern celestial hemisphere.

Earth Similarity Index (ESI): 0.04 Earth Baseline = 1.00
